Executive and general-counsel experience inside a national sports property: governance, ownership structures, team charters, commercial transactions, financing and strategic matters.
Business counsel.
Built from the inside.
Outside general counsel for businesses, brands, talent, teams, media properties and the founders and executives behind them.
Is this you?
Businesses that move on commercial timelines and want a lawyer who thinks like part of the leadership team.
Founders and executives
Owners and operators who want a lawyer who understands the business and the decisions behind the legal issues.
Growth and privately held companies
Contracts, governance, transactions, employment matters and day-to-day legal needs.
Brands, agencies and services
Businesses built on commercial relationships, and the agreements that protect them.
Media, athletes, talent and creators
Endorsements, NIL, licensing, ownership stakes and the entities built around a name.
Sports teams, leagues and properties
Governance, ownership, charters, media rights, sponsorship and the capital behind it.
Good legal advice should move the business forward.
We do more than identify legal risk. We help clients decide what to do about it, and we close on the business calendar rather than the law-firm calendar.
Business-minded counsel
Advice starts with the commercial objective, not just the legal issue.
Executive-level perspective
We know what happens after the contract is signed or the board decides.
Speed to signature
Term sheets, redlines and sign-off on deal timelines. No committee, no hand-offs.
Direct senior attention
Every matter is handled by the founding attorney, first call to last signature.
What we do
From day-to-day contracts to the transactions that define a business. Open any area to see what the work covers.
Outside general counsel
Day-to-day legal leadership for businesses, brands, talent companies and properties without building an in-house department. One point of contact for contracts, governance, vendors, people and the next deal.
Commercial transactions
Structure, draft and negotiate the agreements that drive growth and revenue, on the deal's timeline rather than the law firm's.
Corporate and founder matters
Ownership, governance, equity, investor rights and the internal decisions that shape a company before and after it raises money.
Sports, media and entertainment
The deals underneath campaigns, seasons, content and talent, handled by counsel who has negotiated them from the property side.
Disputes and risk management
Resolve commercial conflicts and manage exposure before problems become existential. Litigation-trained judgment, applied before anyone files.
Special situations
Executive transitions, distressed matters, financings and governance conflicts, where legal analysis and business judgment have to move together.

Selected experience
Where the work has been, in general terms.
Legal and commercial matters surrounding a multi-year national programming and distribution relationship with a major network.
Media-rights strategy and agency engagement, including rights valuation, distribution strategy and renewal negotiations.
Matters involving professional athletes, team owners and investors in connection with ownership, governance and commercial transactions.
Investments, ownership arrangements, secured and convertible financings, equity transactions and strategic commercial deals.
Governance, contracts, equity, commercial relationships, disputes and day-to-day legal strategy for founders and growing businesses.
Representative experience reflects matters handled by Mark Farag in private practice and in prior in-house and executive capacities, described generally. It does not imply that any party involved is or was a client of FARAG Law.
Before you call
The things people ask first.
How do you charge?
Three ways, agreed before any work starts: a standing outside-general-counsel retainer, a scoped fixed fee for a defined matter, or hourly for discrete work. You’ll know the model and the number up front.
How fast can you turn a contract around?
On the deal’s timeline, not the law firm’s. Term sheets, redlines and sign-off move at deal speed, with no committee and no associate hand-offs; you work directly with the founding attorney.
Do you only handle sports and media?
No. Sports, media and entertainment is a specialty inside a general business practice: outside general counsel, transactions, corporate and founder matters, disputes and special situations.
We already have an agency, manager or accountant. How does that work?
We work alongside them. Agencies, managers, agents, accountants and other counsel stay in the picture; our job is the legal work and keeping everyone on the same page.
What happens after I email?
You get a straight answer on whether we’re the right counsel. If we are, a short call to learn the deal, the deadline and what matters most, then a written scope and fee before anything else.
